About Us

Operating for over 120 years, Bair Bros. is a historic institution in Tiffin, Ohio . Founded in 1903 by brothers Clyde and Roy Bair, the downtown staple began as a pawnbroker and seller of gas light fixtures before evolving into a premier sporting goods and awards shop.

  • 1903: The earliest listings show brothers Clyde and Roy Bair running the business.

  • Early 1900s: Originally located at 22 South Washington Street, the storefront was situated right along the Sandusky River . The shop served as a pawn shop in its early years.

  • 1913: The devastating 1913 flood struck downtown Tiffin . The original riverfront buildings were eventually demolished to widen the river, prompting the store to relocate.

  • The Sporting Shift: Over the decades, the brothers shifted the business's focus almost entirely to sporting goods, customized letterman jackets, and community spirit wear.

  • Generational Ownership: Third-generation owner Gary Ehrenfried operated the store for many years, continuing the shop's famous chain-stitch patch and lettering traditions.

  • 2022: Longtime employee Russ Gahris and his wife, Deb Gahris, took over ownership of the shop, maintaining its legacy of custom engraving, screen printing, and locally celebrated athletic awards.

  • Today: Bair Bros. is still located at 28 South Washington Street. The business continues to proudly serve Tiffin and surrounding communities!
